History
In 1954 in the city of Chernigov in the North of Ukraine the construction of the largest wool textile enterprise in the world was started. On December 4, 1963 first 12000 spindles started working. Within the next years 70000 spindles for worsted spinning, 13000 spindles for carded spinning, 852 looms, 375 units of finishing machinery were installed at the mill. 8000000 people could be dressed in garments, made of Chernigov’s fabrics. 11000 workers worked at the enterprise. By 1989 the enterprise had achived the ex-USSR record-breaking capacities in wool textile – 24,5 million running meters of fabrics annually! In 1994 the enterprise became a private joint-stock company. The time of entering the market had begun. Absolutely new technologies were mastered, new articles were created, the quantity of which is in 36 times more, than during 30 years of mill’s work in conditions of planned economy. Collaboration with specialists of International Wool Secretariat promoted a constant development of the product range. As a result of that collaboration 35 articles of worsted fabrics were awarded by the mark “Woolmark” and 20 articles got “Woolblendmark”. The work with such suppliers of raw materials, dye stuffs and chemicals as Austrian concern “Clariant”, Swiss concern “Ciba”, American company “DuPont”, German concern “Henkel” had great importance for improving the quality of the products. The representatives and scientific consultants of those companies were always present at the mill. The production of fabrics with Lycra was accredited by “DuPont”. In 2003 the quality management system was certificated and admitted as appropriate to requirements of International Standard ISO 9001. In 2004 our environmental management system was admitted as appropriate to requirements of International Standard ISO 14000. In 2005 the company got certificate of product safety as per EC standard Oeko-Tex 100. The tendency of a sudden demand slowdown for fabrics at Ukrainian consumer market made us to start reorganization of marketing activity and form a new marketing policy. The company began to epxport its goods. Nowadyas we successfully sell our products to more than 25 countries of the world, such as USA, Canada, France, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Holland, UK, Spain, Turkey, Syria, Russia, Estonia, CIS countries, Mexico, China, Romania, etc. In order to increase the competitiveness of the goods, the company’s management developed the strategy of complex technical re-modarnization and introduction of new technologies on that platform. Within the last years, starting from 2006, the machinry park had been renewed by 70%. More than 200 new machines of Italian and German origin were put into operation. The program for reduction of power consumption and energy intensity of production was implemented. Replacement of the machinery allowed to reduce power inputs per unit of production by 2-5 times. The work, which had been done for second use of industrial wastewater as technological water, reduced the costs for water and wastewater by 90%. The installation of local compressors allowed to close the compressor station and reduce the costs for compressed air production by 80%. The company’s management had been constantly working on issues of labor productivity improvement and wages increase. New machinery and technologies, introduction of modern methods and forms of work organization, let us to increase labor productivity significantly and to optimize the number of employees. The management of production, technology, marketing, financial and other activities of the company is fully computerized. We have a unique computer net system, that allows on-line tracking of goods and other inventory relocation, movements of personnel, to maintain records and monitor the execution of plans, orders and instructions.
